[Genesis] 3:1
Of all the wild animals that Jehovah God made, the serpent was the most treacherous and cunning. One day a snake came to the woman and said, “Did God really say that you should not eat fruit from any tree in the garden?”
[Genesis] 3:2
The woman answered the snake. She said, “We can eat fruit from the trees in the garden.
[Genesis] 3:3
But God said, ‘Do not eat or touch the fruit of the tree in the middle of the garden. He said, ‘Otherwise you will die.’”
[Genesis] 3:4
Then the serpent said to the woman: “You don’t die.
[Genesis] 3:5
God said this because when you eat from the tree, your eyes will be opened and you will know good and evil, and you will become like God.”
